Jolly Archers Open Western 2022

Jolly’s Open western resumed its usual July date this year (31 July 2022).
CCB had a record attendance with 8 archers making the trip to Huntingdon
We mixed seasoned competitors (Jack, Richard, Anke, Lydia, Huw); new to external comps (Alvaro); and those returning after a longish absence form competition (Seb, Patrick).

The tournament results could almost be copied from 2021 (but with some better results)
Jack came equal second in Gents Compound, missing out on first by only 2 7s. Anke came second in the Ladies Recurve. Lydia equalled her 2021 score (and county record) of 860 (that’s only 2 arrows of 96 outside the gold, easily the highest score of the day. If she repeats it next year, they should give her the men’s trophy too.

Seb, Huw, and Anke won the Recurve team trophy, edging out Peacock Archers by a comfortable 154 points Lydia and Jack easily retained their Compound team trophy (16 point margin in a high scoring competition). I will draw a veil over my score in gents’ compound (as Nick pointed out last year there isn’t a wooden spoon)
Full results will in due course appear on the Jolly Archers web page.
